A meme is born, and I'm jumping on J-Walk's bandwagon for the ride. The rules of the meme are as follows:
"The goal of this exercise is to identify nine other bloggers that you would like to meet for dinner/drinks. The only caveat is that these bloggers must be strangers -- you haven't met them before. State the blogger's name, a link to the blog, and why you would like him/her to be in attendance".
There are many bloggers who would be very interesting to meet, so picking only nine may be difficult. If you don't make the list, rest assured it's because I don't like you nothing personal.
1. Sarcasmo at Sacasmos Corner . This is not a reciprocal link for including me at her table. She has the honour of being the first blog I ever saw, (I stumbled there via Google I think) and it made me take up blogging myself. Hers is still my favourite blog, (jealous of her writing ability though I am), and I think that we would have much in common and much to talk about. Her intelligence and humour would ensure the conversation flowed freely all night. She gets to choose the costume theme for the night as well. I hope one day the meeting becomes reality.
2. Saint in a Straight jacket from Dogfight at Bankstown. An Aussie blog that I enjoy reading. I find that his mix of political and religious views provide a slant of the world that I had not seen. I don't always agree but am always interested in the content. At the table he would be the one who told you gently yet firmly that your philosophy was nice, but redundant once he had argued you into the ground.
3. Writers Block at Dysfunctional Thoughts . Badly named as I have never seen any indication that she has trouble writing. I count WB as a friend even though we have never met, and would invite her for that reason alone. Canada is also a place I would love to visit one day. She would provide a mischievous angle to the conversation, and probably corner the red wine.
4. Anyone who has held a dinner party that failed cannot but realise that an artistic, rebellious, beautiful ex dominatrix would have been the answer. Enter Killbunnie. Her photos are artistic, her story is riveting and her presence I'm sure would bring conversation alive on it's own.
5. Vonski at Ariel Moon is another that I would call a friend, and has a sense of humour that the every day life of a single mum needs to survive. Her blog is a personal journal style that is the foundation of this medium. She has a hankering to visit our Great Southern Land, and is fond of Blundstone boots. I would like her to have that opportunity.
6. Where the Hell was I shows that every day crap in your life can be really funny. He is prolific and able to laugh at any given situation, especially if it involves poking fun at himself. If he talks like he writes there may be no room for others to open their mouths.
7. Sponky from Too Many Losers is another Aussie blogger. Being from Western Australia all wine orders should be sent to him as the Margaret River is the best wine in the country for mine. I like Sponky's laid back attitude, his take on movies and the fact that he is very open about his feelings. You get the feeling that it's not so much a blog as a conversation. I also want to learn more about Buddhism.
8. Specific foods for specific minds shows the struggles that some people have to cope with, and how well they do it. The love and affection this Dutch Mum has for her son Nick who suffers from Autism makes me want to give her an award rather than just dinner. She also shares a love of cats as strong as my own.
9. Fern at Ozblog rounds off my nine. She represents the pommies, but has moved to Australia, showing style and intelligence. Watching her adapt to the new life with humour is enjoyable. She would provide a fast dwindling British accent and a wry view of the country she hopes to call home.
So many more could be included. I've missed a couple of good photo blogs, and hardly touched my blogroll or my bookmarks. Looks like more dinner parties will be needed.
I'm honored to be on the list.
I've always thought of red wine as truth serum and corner the wine strictly to "mischievously" top off the glasses of others. It keeps the party going and the the conversation then centres around their truth instead of mine.
I may copy this meme - but then again, I may not. It would be difficult to settle on "nine" people, although the top four is very clear to me.

Wow, what an honour. Thank you!
I'm actually quite boring and shy really. I'd be the one hiding under the table or volunteering to do the dishes while the rest of you scoff that red.
:-)
